Done!

Wow.

After eleven months of course work, eight months of student teaching, five plus all-nighters, five job fairs, interacting with 80 students, and countless pounds of paper being distributed to students, I'm officially done with the teacher education program.

Wow.

I feel extremely accomplished with what I learned in this program and I can't wait to being my career as a English teacher at Northeast High School. This program has challenged me to think and re-think about the various issues facing urban education. I am in no way an expert teacher, but I feel prepared to enter the conversation!

Spring Break

S-P-R-I-N-G BREAK!

I really don't know why I separated the word spring with dashes, but I'm pretty grateful for the break! I am, however, sick : ( I hope to get some work done, get better, and wrap up my field placement in a matter of weeks!

Yes, I'm still alive....

Hey everyone!

WOW! I'm sorry for not posting for over a month, but if you were in my shoes - and many of you might be very soon - then you will understand what I have been going through.
If you wondering where the video blog is at, I'm just writing this quick update to let you know what has been going on in my life - trust me, there is a lot to talk about.
I'll quickly go over the highlight reel and point out some main events:
1: I took over all my classes on January 20th
2: I have been participating in the job search and last week, I was offered a job!
3: I'm finishing up my masters portfolio!
4: I'm about to have spring break - I'll be spending most of that time portfolio-ing and apartment hunting.
5: I'm about to graduate!

I'll keep you all update with a more extensive video journal. If all goes well, it should be posted tomorrow!
